We are long known as one of the city's favorite brunch sites, but we are also much more.  Our pastry program boasts an assortment of house made croissants, muffins, cookies and — our personal favorite — pies, inspired by the classics.  Just as San Francisco's Mission District was once a holiday respite for early city dwellers wanting to escape the fog and enjoy some sunshine, Mission Beach Cafe offers a warm and welcoming destination for modern urbanites looking for a distinctive neighborhood eatery.

FIRST COURSES

Farmers Market  Soup                                              

Mac & Cheese-- gruyere, aged cheddar, manchego, fried onions, chives                                               

Crab Aaancini-- arborio rice, fresh mozzarella, chipotle aioli   

Roasted Beets -- seared grape, goat cheese, pinenuts, sherry vinaigrette              

Brokaw Avocado & Mango Salad-- little gems, naval orange, roasted almond, manchego, lemon vinaigrette                                

Truffle Fries-- kennebec potatoes, parmigiana reggiano, black truffle oil, parsley                               

Tuckerman Farm Asparagus- sweet black garlic puree, lemon, parsley                                                                                       

Charred Brussles-- sweet potato puree, garlic, lemon

Multagliati--house made semolina pasta with red chili, asparagus, roasted garlic, white wine, cream                                                      

Grilled Flatbread-- inspiration strikes daily

MAIN COURSES:

MBC Rabbit Potpie-- braised rabbit, onion, carrot, celery, roux, cream, garlic, white wine.                              

House Made Tagliatelle-- braised spring lamb, shiitake mushrooms, brussel sprout leaves, fennel, fried shallots, parsley, parmigiano.    

Farmers Market Vegetables-- selection of season's best vegetables and organic grains.    

Brined Pork Chop-- mashed potatoes, chili roasted turnips, baby carrots, rapini.                                                                                        

Mt. Lassen Trout-- braise, romanesco, maitake, parsnip puree, herb sauce.                                                    

Cast Iron Roasted Marry's Free Range Chicken-- celery root, butternut squash, farro, watermelon radish, nasturtium leaves, jus.            

Filet Mignon-- crispy fingerling potatoes, kale, grilled fennel, chanterelles, sauce bordelaise.                

Mission Beach Burger-- point reyes toma, caramelized onions, baby lettuce, aioli, kennebec fries--                                                    +++add bacon, mushrooms, avocado 

THE BAKERY 

With a full scale production bakery, we make our own croissants, DANISHES, english muffins, pies, cakes, COOKIES, HAMBURGER buns, and BRIOCHE.

 

Drop in for a pastry to go or experience them throughout the menu.

Whole Pies, ELEVATED inspirations of the classics, are available for purchase with 24 hour advanced notice, or 48 hour advanced notice during the weeks of Christmas and Thanksgiving.
